Hosting and technical providers

The ParisGuessr application and PostgreSQL database are hosted on Railway, in the EU West region.

The domain name parisguessr.net is managed through Cloudflare. Cloudflare proxy mode is enabled, meaning that visitors access the website through Cloudflare’s network before reaching the origin application.

User-submitted images are stored and delivered through Cloudinary.

Transactional emails, including account verification and password reset emails, are sent through Resend.

Purpose of the website

ParisGuessr is a daily photo-location game. Players are shown a photo taken in Paris and try to guess its location on a map.

The website is provided for entertainment, demonstration, and educational purposes.

Intellectual property

The ParisGuessr name, interface, source code, visual design, texts, and original content are protected unless otherwise stated.

Photos submitted by users remain the property of their respective authors. By submitting a photo, users authorize ParisGuessr to store, moderate, display, and use the photo as part of the game, daily rounds, moderation interface, and related pages.

User-generated content

Users may submit photos, photo coordinates, location hints, photographer attribution, social links, and optional contact information.

Users are responsible for ensuring that they have the right to submit this content. The publisher may reject, remove, or modify submitted content if it is inappropriate, inaccurate, unlawful, misleading, or unrelated to the purpose of the website.

Responsibility

The publisher makes reasonable efforts to keep the website available and functioning, but does not guarantee uninterrupted access, absence of bugs, or permanent availability of user data, scores, photos, or game history.

The website may be modified, suspended, or discontinued as part of development, maintenance, hosting constraints, or security needs.
